It’s good to be a tourist in Luxembourg: this city is probably the capital with the smallest number of transportation problems in the world.
By Air
- Findel Airport (Luxembourg International Airport)
Location: 5 km north-east of the city
Connection to city: City Bus 16 leaves every 15 minutes for the city centre and back; the station is 50 m from the main airport building; travel time: 25 min; cost: 1.50 EUR.
By Bus
- General Info:
In a city as small as this, you’ll use the public bus network on surprisingly few occasions. Tickets valid for one or five days can be bought from the airport and rail stations. All buses pass through the Hamilius station in the city centre.

Cost of a ticket valid for 1 hour: 1.5 EUR
Cost of a 10 ticket pack: 10 EUR
Cost of 1 day ticket: 5 EUR
Cost of a 5 day ticket pack: 20 EUR
By Taxi

- Taxi prices:
Fee / km: 2.05 EUR (from 10 pm to 6 am, there’s an additional charge of 10% which becomes 25% on holidays and Sundays)
By Car
- General info: Traffic poses no problems in Luxembourg, the important thing is to pick a good place to park your car, rented or personal.
- Parking garages: at place du Théâtre, near the post office off boulevard Royal, off rue Notre-Dame. (these are underground, in the city centre)
By Foot
- General Info: The best way to experience Luxembourg from a tourist’s perspective is by foot. You’ll see that most attractions concentrate in a 5 km area around the middle of the town. Also, there are lots of parks and gardens which are made to be walked in.

- General Info:
If you want to save some money, as soon as you arrive in Luxembourg, get your hands on a LuxembourgCard. With it, you can use the local public transportation network for no charge and it comes with a tourist guide plus other discounts. It’s valid from spring to autumn (Easter to October).
